SHOW "WATERCOLORS & COLLAGES"

Helen Dilley Barsalou is inspired by the beauty of landscapes whether
they be quiet fields from her native South Dakota, jagged mountains from
the United States, or quiet streets from France and Italy. Her work is
most often realistic, but sometimes semiabstract.
She creates with both watercolor and collage. Her collages are done with
papers that she has painted in watercolor, and occasionally acrylic. She
loves to exhibit textures in her works, therefore she uses many types of
papers to express her end results.

TITLE to
SHOW "Creation Sings!"
.JPG)
I have always loved nature and enjoy being outside. After creating a
garden in my yard to feed birds and butterflies, I began to see the
beautiful art found in nature. The clouds, trees, flowers, birds, and
various wildlife come together to create a unique universe for us to
enjoy in our lives. “Creation Sings!” is about the unique beauty found
in nature, whether it is in a local park or a national park, a backyard,
a state park, a dog or cat playing or just a walk in the woods, the city
or the country. “Creation Sings!” everyday and my work is designed to
discover the art in nature.
My work focuses on the simple beauty of nature and has been described as
“unique, beautiful, and natural”. My purpose is to bring nature’s
beauty to the attention of others.
Although I use digital photography for my art, no image is ever touched
up or edited to get that perfect image. “Nature’s beauty doesn’t need
help from me, having a passion for nature and an eye to capture its
beauty, the natural world is my studio”.
