Contemporary American Folk Artist– March meeting

The regular meeting for VAS will be held March 14 at 7:30pm in the VAS Art Center.  This is your opportunity to get an update on the active projects and events within VAS.  Be involved, enjoy your fellow VAS members, ask questions or  get some help with your tech problems. It is looking like an interesting and exciting evening.

We are returning to the regular meeting format which includes an artist demonstration, then the ext meeting is April 11 at 7:30pm.

Sissy Cutchen practices her art at the Torpedo Factory will be our guest artist. Her talent is varied with broad appeal and wonderful sense of aesthetics.  Ms. Cutchen will give ideas on her techniques of forward and reverse painting on glass, textile painting, and assemblage.

Sissy will share insights relating to her 20 year evolution as a visionary artist. She will share her insights about insider and outsider art and how those perspectives translate to collecting.   Her talk will conclude with her views on the importance of art in the home and its effect. The Treasury of Art Exhibit plan is underway and the Take a Seat project has taken delivery of benches on March 4-5.  Some new exhibit opportunities are coming up soon, MeadowLark Gardens and Reston Government center.  Come find out how you can be a part of all things art.
