 Is oil your favorite medium? Or watercolor? Or mixed media? You can see all 3, and much more, at the VAS Village Green Gallery this fall.

The Vienna Arts Society is organizing a trio of judged shows, opening on September 14th, October 12th and November 9th  

Renowned local artists will judge each show, starting with Jill Banks, who will kick off our series with her insights about our acrylic and oil artwork. Marni Maree is on deck to judge our works on paper, and Amelia Hankin will step up to judge works in alternative media.

To see our prize-winning artwork and hear why our judges made their selections, join our receptions on Sept 27th (acrylics and oils), Oct 25th (works on paper) and Nov 22nd (alternative media).

Our 3 Treasures Trio shows will be held at the VAS Village Green Gallery at 513 Maple Avenue W in Vienna. Look for us inside the double doors. Call 703-319-3971 with any questions.

To enter these shows, VAS members should submit your registration below. The registration deadlines are September 10 (acrylics and oils), October 8 (works on paper) and November 5 (alternative media).

Busy City, acrylic by Jodi Condes, was a winning painting at our last Treasures Trio show.

Justin T. Worrell  is a Virginia-based landscape artist.  An oil painter in the tradition of the American Tonalists, Justin applies paint thinly and uses a dry brush technique to create dreamlike, atmospheric, and emotionally charged images.

Justin’s interest in art began early in his life, sitting beside his grandmother, asking questions and observing the craft firsthand.  Largely painting as a hobby, Justin began more formal training as an oil painter around 2014 with the Art League in Alexandria, VA.

Justin Worrell paintings represent a modern expressive school of Tonalism.  His artistic influences include George Inness, J.M.W. Turner, and Dennis Sheehan, as well as  broader art history.

His work has been collected globally, and he teaches both domestically and internationally. Justin is represented by Principle Gallery (Alexandria, VA), Thornhill Gallery (Portsmouth, NH), and Mariner Gallery (Newport, RI).

A Signature Artist of the American Tonalist Society, Justin is also a member of the Oil Painters of America.

Join us every 3rd Thursday from 4-6:30 pm for a bite to eat, some great company, and conversation during our community events. You can also enjoy our current exhibition, which features new works rotating through our home gallery regularly, along with engaging art demos.
