Art historian Rosemary Gallick shares the joy of modern art at November membership meeting

Topics from cubism and Dada objects to color field painting were the highlights of this evening Zoom call.

The Vienna Arts Society (VAS) welcomes the public to free-of-charge virtual artist talks and demonstrations the second Thursday of each month.

Professor Rosemary Gallick will share her love and knowledge of abstract art on Thursday, November 9th, at the next VAS membership meeting. Rosemary has taught Art and Art History at Northern Virginia Community College in Manassas since 1994. In 2017 and 2020, she was the Featured Artist for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Community College Systems. Rosemary also spearheads regular exhibitions of VAS artists at her NVCC campus.

Creating art since childhood has been an enduring passion for Professor Gallick. Her goal in her talk, as well as in her own art, is to have the viewer share some of the joy she has experienced in trying to evoke the essence of a painting. In her words, “By  looking carefully at art, the music, memories, and dreams can begin!”

The VAS Art Center is located in the Windover Professional Building at 243 Church St NW, Suite 100LL, Vienna VA 22180.
