Free Artist Presentation and VAS Monthly Meeting: The Vienna Arts Society invites the public to free virtual art programs the second Thursday of each month. On July 8, 7:00-8:30pm, experience Cold Wax Painting with artist Rachael McCampbell. Painting with Cold Wax Medium (CWM) is a hugely popular method with artists all over the world. It allows you to build layers of oil paint on paper or panels, add textures, use printmaking techniques, create mark-making with charcoal and wax pencils, incorporate powdered pigments into your work plus draw and paint with R & F paint sticks and oils. With CWM, you can even use solvent for reductive/abstracted techniques and scratch and dig into your painting when the wax is dryer for unusual effects. It’s a very process-oriented medium and allows for experimentation and play. Painting with CWM lends itself to both representational or abstract art. If you like working with mixed mediums and oil, this is the demo for you! Note: The demo will be preceded by a brief business meeting.
