A enthusiastic overflow crowd joined us at the Vienna Community Center Fieldhouse on Nov 11th for what was clearly the event of the year. It was a spectacular grand finale to a 19-month project.
Our amazing team spearheaded by Ken Britz included 38 artists who painted the benches, members who worked tirelessly to handle every minute detail, the support of our town leadership, Vienna Parks & Recs who flawlessly created our space, our sponsors and all the participants who came out to support us in “enriching our community through art”
OUR HEARTFELT GRATITUDE GOES OUT TO EACH AND EVERYONE!
Award-winning auctioneer Brian Damewood kept the crowd on its feet as all 40 handcrafted benches were auctioned to the highest bidders and found their new forever homes! Vienna’s own Ralph Reinecke built each and very bench, which was then painted by Vienna Arts Society artists,
VAS extends a special thanks to the many bench sponsors, the businesses that donated food for the auction, musician Sammi Wallace who warmed up the crowd, and the Town of Vienna for supporting this fabulous example of public art.
