VAS artist talk and membership meeting with Lynn Goldstein

The Vienna Arts Society welcomes the public to free-of-charge virtual artist demonstrations the second Thursday of each month.

Lynn Goldstein presented an artist talk on “Finding Your Voice as an Artist” on Thursday, May 12th at 10:30 am

As an artist, Lynn strives to help people feel peace amidst a troubled world and hectic daily lives. She says if her work adds something positive to someone’s life, then she has served her purpose.

Lynn gave examples of how she worked to find the direction that she is currently taking in her artwork.

What you will learn:

  • How to look at your past to see if you will find clues to the art that you want to paint
  •  Why it’s important to notice what you notice in your life and your art
  • How artists from the past can inform your art in ways that may surprise you
  • Use of color and composition

Lynn has been a professional artist for over 20 years. During that time, she has been represented by numerous commercial galleries, taught classes& workshops in Europe and the mid-Atlantic and led tours at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. She has attained Signature Membership in the Pastel Society of America. Lynn is a signature member judge for the Maryland Pastel Society, a juried Torpedo Factory Artist, and a Workhouse artist where she holds a studio.
