Jan Burns is the Vienna Art Society’s Artist of the Year. She is celebrating her 40 years of VAS membership with her show Looking Back. Over the years Jan has embraced a variety of styles and subject matter. On display will be selected representational watercolors and abstract collages that reflect her diverse interests.
As Jan explains, “I love being a part of the creative process – I love the color – the energy – the texture of paint and paper – the challenge of resolving new problems that each painting presents – and the knowledge that infinite number of visual experiences and new challenges will always await me.”
VAS will host a public reception honoring Jan on May 15th, from 4-6 pm at the VAS Village Green Gallery. The gallery is located at 513 Maple Avenue W, Vienna, VA 22180, in the Village Green Shopping Center at the corner of Maple Ave and Nutley Street.
